Come make something fun

Ceramics By Tess is a paint your own ceramics studio offering a variety of bisque for your painting pleasure.

We accept walk ins and groups. Our population includes infants, tots, teens, mommies and daddies, elderly, families, church groups, special needs groups, daycares, birthday parties, home-schoolers, grandparents and more. If you have a group, we do ask you make a reservation to assist in sufficient staffing and supplies. We can seat up to 164 people at a time.

Come into the studio and shop our huge variety of inventory. You will find mugs, plates, platters, bowls, crosses, animals, ornaments, dragons, fairies, Christmas, Halloween, Easter and too much more to list. Find an item you like and check out at the register. Basic supplies, paint, studio time and staff suggestions are included in the price of your item. The staff will assist you with your color choices and give basic direction if you need.  Miss Tess’s collection of stamps and stencils are free to use to assist those feeling slightly challenged. You may also purchase our items to take home to paint at a discount.

We offer you a choice of different paint types.

Painting with acrylic paint,  can be sprayed matt or glossy and then allows you to take it home the same day (glitter is offered for free for those sparkle lovers).

If you choose to Paint with our Fun Strokes by Gare ,  you will leave your item with Miss Tess for her to glaze and fire it for you. This will give you a high gloss look and if used on dishes or such, a surface that can be eaten off of or drunken out of. This process usually takes 7 days. Occasionally, it may take a few extra days in the event of power outages, larger items, or peak seasonal periods.

Specialty classes are offered a few times a month. They include painting techniques, working with clay, how to pour a mold and our brand new Warm Glass classes.  Feel free to contact us to keep updated on those special dates.

We  sell a variety of craft supplies:

Specialty paints by Gare, Mayco, Duncan, Ceramichrome and many more

Low-fire clay for those who want to play with clay, tools and brushes

About 12,000 used ceramic molds (and a few brand new ones) are currently up for sale

We will “fire” outside items only as approved by Miss Tess for safety of her kiln and other art work.
